Una is an artist in paint and textiles.
Completed works are the result of the natural lifetime progression of sewing machine skills, from clothing construction, to patchwork, to art quilts, incorporating machine embroidery and fabric manipulation.
An eclectic assortment of fabric embellishment is the result of many experiments in space dyeing, crochet, embroidery by hand and machine, wool couching, overlaying and quilting in a variety of silk, cotton, and polyester fabrics.
The age-old question of "what is art" is constantly being challenged as the fine line drawn between textiles as art or craft and has resulted in an emphasis on textiles.
