Michele Kershaw
Michele says "the origins of my works are strongly linked to who I am. They are drawn from my immediate environment, rich in textural and natural elements, from my relationships with people around me and from my memories. Through the processes of photography, collage and various printing techniques the etchings continue to evolve."
Michele is a graduate of the Diploma of Visual Art from Rockhampton College of TAFE. In 1999, Michele received the Regional Arts Development Fund Grant to attend a textile workshop at McGregor Winter School at University of Southern Queensland. In 20001, Michele received the Regional Arts Development Fund Grant for emerging regional artists to co-exhibit prints at The Mill Gallery.
Over the years Michele has had a number of exhibitions both in the Capricorn Coast area and Brisbane. She is a winner of the Print and Drawing Section Capricorn Arts Festival 2000, the Works on Paper Ergon Energy CQ Art Award 2002 and the 2003 Print and Drawing Section Capricorn Arts Festival, Yeppoon.
